Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has an opening for a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Technician. The role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. Edenderry Power is maintained by small core teams, each consisting of several Maintenance Technicians working under the direction and leadership of a Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will be carrying out responsibility for achieving challenging maintenance, engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and personal development targets.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
- Contribute to the mechanical maintenance function to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency, and safe systems of work. The efficient use of appropriate spare parts in line with budget and operation of a maintenance management system;
- Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the Plant;
- Broaden experience by covering the Maintenance Engineer’s duties. (e.g. assist planning);
- Carry out fault diagnosis as required. Conduct plant inspections and undertake operational duties as required;
- Pro-active and creative in problem solving and initiative;
- Participate in the implementation of the Plant Business Management System including the Plant Safety Release programme. To carry out Preventative Maintenance/other works and report to the Maintenance Management System and keep record of all other necessary quality documentation;
- Work within their own and alongside other teams to provide high quality flexible maintenance resource geared to achieving high plant availability;
- Work alongside other parties and, as necessary, manage their activities on site;
- Carry out all work in a safe manner. Actively participate in the work permit system. Follow all the safety guidelines and promote working safely in the workplace;
- Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives;
- All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises;
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:
- Appropriate technical qualifications, HND,HC, and/or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role;
- Level 6 qualification or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering;
- Must possess IT skills and a good knowledge of a maintenance management systems, including planning of preventative maintenance and reporting;
