Bord na Móna will deliver a number of critical objectives of the Government’s climate action plan particularly in the areas of renewable electricity generation, recycling and waste management, and land use change.

Minister Bruton toured some of the 1100-hectare site and received a briefing on Bord na Móna’s plans for renewable energy production and the new business projects that support the company’s decarbonisation programme.

Bord na Móna has submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanála for the proposed 96MW Derryadd windfarm. The proposed development will be situated on cutaway peatlands on Derryadd, Derryaroge and Lough Bannow bogs located in South Co. Longford.
